Saskia Rao de Haas and Sandip Bhattacharya


The cello virtuoso Saskia Rao-de Haas, who won a royal distinction, took her love for India to such an extent that she invented a new instrument: the Indian cello. She tours the world with this unique instrument. At LaLaLand, Saskia and tabla player Sandip Bhattacharya will open the festival with her enchanting playing and inspiration — a magical beginning that brings East and West together.

Sumanth Manjunath
Sumanth Manjanath combines tradition with innovation. This son of violin legend Dr. Mysore Manjunath was a musical prodigy at a young age. During this vocal and instrumental LaLaLand concert, Sumanth brings South Indian ragas to life with his violin playing and deep singing, accompanied by tabla. A sparkling interplay!
Debasmita Bhattacharya
MISHRAN means 'merging' in Hindi. And that's exactly what happened when Debasmita (Kolkata and London on sarod), Karan (from Mumbai as percussionist), Frank (from Bergen aan Zee on keys) and Julien (from Nice on saxophone) were given the chance to compose new music in the beautiful mountains of the Himalayas in late 2023.
They created a unique sound and the whole became more than the sum of its parts. At LaLaLand they will give a concert and present their first CD.
Siddharth Kishna
Siddharth Kishna grew up in Amsterdam and became fascinated by the sitar at a young age. Trained by Ustad Jamaluddin Bharitya and graduated from the Rotterdam Conservatory, he combines Indian tradition with a Western perspective. Siddharth will be presenting the sound world of the sitar on Saturday.

Hamsika Iyer
One of Bollywood’s most mesmerizing voices — known for hits like Chammak Challo, Raabta and 1234 Get on the Dance Floor. Hamsika Iyer is a musical nomad who straddles genres and languages, performing from Times Square to OZORA. At LaLaLand, this wandering gypsy brings her unparalleled energy and voice live to the stage.
International Qawwali Sisters
More than twenty women from all over the world form this unique Sufi collective. With fiery voices, clapping hands and inspired singing together, they bring an enchanting set full of joy, surrender and connection on Saturday — an absolute must-see at LaLaLand.
MISHRAN
MISHRAN brings worlds together. This four-piece band — with musicians from India, the Netherlands and France — mixes Indian ragas, jazz, percussion and improvisation into a unique sound. With sarod, saxophone, piano and rhythm, MISHRAN takes you on an adventurous musical journey full of encounters and surprises. Live at LaLaLand on Saturday!
Bombay Noir
Bollywood in a new guise: Bombay Noir mixes iconic Indian film music with swing, soul and funk. Led by singer Varshita Ramesh, this Rotterdam ensemble breathes new life into classics from Bollywood and Kollywood — stylish, sultry and full of character. On Saturday at LaLaLand

From dhol to turntable: DJ Mous brings pure energy to LaLaLand! This Amsterdam DJ – also a dancer and dhol player – conquered the international stage at breakneck speed and was voted one of the top 100 female DJs worldwide in 2023 and 2024. On both festival days, she will serve up an exhilarating Bollywood set that is guaranteed to make everyone dance.
Tritha — Healing Raaga Concert
In this intimate session, Tritha opens a sound space of healing and stillness. With her unique voice, ragas and knowledge of the healing geometry of sound, she invites you to a deep, meditative listening experience. Kalpanarts, the dance company of choreographer Kalpana Raghuraman, presents Between Us: an intense duet about trust, play and connection. In a mix of Indian classical dance and contemporary styles, full of rhythm, footwork and hand gestures, a dance language is created that moves. Avijeet Chakravarty
Born and trained in Varanasi. Practising Khatak dance since the age of four. With over 30 years of stage experience and performances all over India, Avijeet Chakravarty brings the deep rhythms and refined expression of Kathak to LaLaLand; on Saturday and Sunday.

SalAura embodies the new India: Dalit-born, classically trained and unabashedly powerful. This drag queen weaves Indian tradition with global pop culture and turns every performance into a statement of freedom. At LaLaLand, she transforms the stage into a place of beauty and rebellion on both days.
Viyu's Bollywood dance
Step into the world of Bollywood with Vyju's dance school Navras! In this energetic workshop you will learn the iconic moves of the Indian film. Vyju, born in Mumbai and the Bollywood dance teacher of Amsterdam for 15 years, makes everyone shine - on Saturday and Sunday.

Afke Reijenga – Vinyasana & Yin Yoga and Taste of Tantra Large
Afke Reijenga, one of the most famous yoginis in the Netherlands, provides part of the LaLaLand yoga program. Afke combines Vinyasa and Yin yoga in her session, together with a mantra and even a bit of dance this lesson becomes a party. She also gives 'Taste of Tantra' at LaLaLand. Tantra helps you to feel and perceive more, to land more from your head in your body. In this loving soft session you can experience Tantra. A session to feel in the moment. A classical raga as a tribute and friendship as a source.
YES Jayant Quartet
The virtuoso flutist JA Jayant takes you on an enchanting journey through South Indian ragas and melodies. With his characteristic bamboo flute and accompanied by his ensemble, he lets the art of Carnatic music shine on Sunday evening in the 'Felix Room' — full of rhythm, soul and meditative depth.
Siddhart Kishna & Family
A musical story full of tradition and ensemble: Siddharth Kishna (surbahar), his daughter Saniya (bansuri), son Aaryan (tabla) and mother Sharmili Mitra (tanpura) bring a heartwarming concert on Sunday afternoon.
